Poetry isn't always Depressing

I am constantly

Agog

At the beauty everywhere.

I just finished

Walking the dog

You see,

And from the shining of his coat as he bounced

To the light breeze that made the flowers flutter

I am constantly

Agog

At the beauty everywhere.

Why do people

Automatically believe

Poetry is meant

To be depressing?

That’s not it at all.

Only a few of mine are.

Most are about people

Moments

Or little things

I hadn’t noticed before.

Art isn’t just noticing the bad

And making it pretty

Art is seeing the good

Where no one else can.
