There’s stranger on

24th street

I really wish I could meet

But I never seem to have the courage

Why I can’t say

All I know

Is the way he grins

At other people’s sins

Makes me want to wonder

If what goes on underneath

That rough exterior

Is actually much more superior

Than what we’d like to think.

So the next time I see

The stranger on 24th street

I’ll grin back.
